Slide Background
18th Meeting of the French Microscopy Society
Rouen - From 3 to 7 July 2023

A few words about the 2023 edition

The SFµ 2023 conference was held at the University of Rouen from July 3 to 7. With over 230 registered participants, 66 people present at the exhibition and the GN MEBA spring meeting, nearly 350 people were present on the conference site.

Over 150 contributions were received for the conference, and the poster session, at the end of which 3 prizes were awarded, was particularly lively, with 70 posters presented. All participants, the scientific committee and all symposium organizers are to be congratulated on the quality and density of the conference’s scientific program.

The exhibition was also particularly dynamic, with 20 booths, numerous demonstrations and several events. The symposium also coincided with the inauguration of the exhibition “Patrimoine et Microscopie, voir l’invisible en Normandie”, which provided an opportunity to discover or rediscover microscopic instruments.

A great deal of support was needed to ensure that the symposium lived up to its promise. The organizing committee would like to express its gratitude to all the staff and departments of the Université de Rouen Normandie, the GPM and PRIMANCEN, whose involvement was indispensable both upstream and during the symposium. The members of the SFµ board and the company MCO congres were also instrumental in bringing this event to life. Last but not least, we would like to thank Labex EMC3 and the Rouen metropolitan area for the trust they have placed in the organizing committee through their financial support.

We look forward to seeing you in 2025 for the next SFµ conference.

Exhibition « Patrimoine & Microscopie, regarder l’invisible en Normandie »

On July 3, 2023, a preview of the exhibition “Patrimoine & Microscopie, regarder l’invisible en Normandie” (Heritage & Microscopy, looking at the invisible in Normandy) will be held at the UFR des Sciences et Techniques of the Université de Rouen Normandie, the venue for the SFµ 2023 symposium.

The exhibition was designed and set up by RéSITech (Réseau Scientifique Industriel et Technique – sauvegarde et valorisation du patrimoine scientifique en Normandie), Ms Anne-Sophie Rozay and her team.

Throughout the week, symposium participants will be able to move through the different eras of microscopy, discovering or rediscovering a number of instruments (microprobe, TEM, Atomic Tomographic Probe, etc.).
